Solus Isle - zombie RP

Nathan blinked, a cold sweat all over his body as he continued to feel that presence behind him, doing nothing but breathing down his neck. He didn't move, he barely breathed. He could have done something by now, but he wasn't stupid. Nathan knew that the second he does anything, anything at all, that thing would have finished him off much faster. He still kept a tight grip on his dagger though and silently prayed Hayley come back with the others.

Hayley hurried on her way that she occasionally nearly slipped. Her heart was beating fast and loud. The more she remembered the things she saw outside, the more she got worried. If those were the things that attacked Nathan before, they're in more trouble than she first thought.

They eventually reached the hole. Right beside it was where she left her things. They were still there thankfully. Hayley knelt down beside the hole, "Nathan! Are you there??" she called down, worry evident in her voice.

Nathan was relieved to finally hear her voice, but the moment Hayley had called out to him, that thing from behind him grabbed him. He barely let out a shriek before a slimy hand covered his mouth and the smell of decay reached his nose. He struggled, but whoever or whatever this was, it was strong and soon, he fell unconscious.

Jon heard the rustle from above and switched on a flashlight, but a canopy of leaves blocked their sight from Nathan. He cursed, he can't just shoot at it blindly.

He turned to the girls, "Get the rope, I'll get the kid." he says and jumps in. But as soon as he landed, a sinking feeling was deep in his gut as he looked around but sees nothing, but an abandoned dagger on the ground.

"Whatever that was earlier," he calls up, "It's got Nathan."

Veronica watched as the catastrophic occurance had just happened. Zombies were out to get them. What was worse was she barely knew how to fight. "What do we do now?"

"What do we do now is panic!" Elaine piped up. Hayley looked at the blonde with a glare. "Please shut up, Miss Spokes." she spoke. She was obviously stressed knowing that the child she was supposed to be watching over with her life had been taken by those creatures.

She looked at the Veronica with a serious face. "You better be ready with your stuff Miss Williams. Nathan's injury could become worse than it already was." she spoke as she went and tied the rope to a nearby rock, securing it properly before dropping it into the hole. "Come on Lieutenant Colonel, we need to find him."

Lu Shen breathes heavily. 'Damn... they like have no end..' he curses in his mind as he looks around before starts slashing to make a way for himself. A monster manages to grab him and almost bites him in the neck. Lu Shen quickly pushes his sword above his shoulder to stab the monster's head. It works however the monster nails scratch Lu Shen's shoulder quite bad, lucky it is the left one, so he still can swing his blade around. Lu Shen quickly jumps backwards after beheading a monster. Heavy rain has slow down his move, moreover the wound sure hurts. 'I should.. go back in.....' he thinks as his vision gets blurred.

Shaking his head to make himself persevere, Lu Shen throws a knife before dashing back to the cavern. He hopes Jonathan and the other has gotten Nathan safe. Hopefully..
Lu Shen gritted his teeth, hoping there won't be more nastier stuff inside.

Jon furrowed his brow, he wasn't so sure about leaving the two others up there while Lu Shen was fighting off those things at the entrance. And by the time they've come back, whatever's got Nathan might have gotten them as well. He sighs, this is getting riskier by the minute but there's no other choice, "Ms Spokes, Ms Williams, I suggest you hurry up and come down here. We're going after them." he knew this was just going to slow them down, but he can't leave defenseless women alone in a place like this. Dammit.

"Make a mark up there, anything that would grab Lu Shen's attention so he'd be able to follow us." this also meant a marker for those creatures, but they have to stay together. Lu Shen better be okay, as well as Nathan.

Hayley clicked her tongue. "Here goes everything." she muttered quietly, taking deep breaths as she turned to the other girls. "Miss Williams, Miss Spokes. We're going to have to go down there." she spoke, fully expecting a complain from the medic.

Deciding to ignore either women's protests she pulled out anything she could use as a flag or something and wrote with the lump of coal she picked up back at camp, writing down something around the lines of them having to go down the hole.

Hayley ushered the two ladies to go first before she rappelled down herself. "Where do you think they took him." Hayley asked Jonathan while she waved the flashlight about.

Veronica walked around the unfamiliar area. Surrounding were rather wet and disgusting. "I was never raised to walk on something like this!" Despite the danger they were in the blonde never seized her complaining. Seems disgust over came fear here.

"We have better things to worry about here, Miss Williams!" Jon snapped before looking around and turning his flashlight left and right. He stopped in one spot and bent down, checking the dirt and the plants and stood up, "We go over here. The ground is disturbed, and some of the branches on these plants are broken." he says, securing his rifle and pack before heading in, "Nathan might have put up a fight as they took him."

He glanced at the back briefly and continued, "Make sure to leave markers every few meters for Lu Shen to see." he tells the girls.

Elaine was ripping tiny bits from the piece of paper that Hayley gave to her. "I'm on it." she spoke, trying to be calm. Hayley was walking behind the group, a gun in one hand and the flashlight in another. "I really hope he's fine." she spoke. She could swear there was some weird sound echoing from the other direction, it gave her chills.

"Ah, shit!!" there he goes, cursing again. Lu Shen forgot to bring some fire.. or a torch. Now he looks at his surroundings, freaking dark. No choice, he has to go back to the entrance, and oh crap, he heard something horrible. "Stay calm stay calm..." he searches through his pockets and grabs something. He remembers that he brings along his glasses too, in case his contact lenses get screwed or else. Quickly he wears those glasses without bothering to remove the contacts first. His finger searches in its frame, finally he found a tiny button. Lu Shen presses it and from the edge of the right frame, a light rays ahead. It is not really much, however really helps Lu Shen to look ahead. Lu Shen doesn't want to waste his time and gets killed, he's already injured and doesn't want more. He quickly takes a run.

"I'm sure he's fine," he tells Elaine as they trudged forward. He very well hoped so at least.

Unbeknownst to the group, they were being followed, and it wasn't who they were hoping for. All of a sudden, hands had grabbed at their ankles and pulled them all to the ground.

Nathan opened his eyes and blinked, trying to adjust to the darkness, "W-where am I...?" he looks around and finds himself in what seemed to look to be the inside of an old temple. He was fascinated, statues of large humanoid animals and pillars were holding the whole thing up and there were detailed carvings on the wall. But he didn't expect what he'd find when he turned around.

The most unexpected was that Hayley was the one who screeched at the highest pitch, shooting at the ground below her. "Let go you animal!!" she squealed. Elaine who was completely unarmed stomped on whatever was grabbing her ankle. "Get it off! Get it off!!" she spoke, her voice making her sound like she was going to break into tears shortly.

Veronica let out a loud, high pitched scream. "Let go!" It wasn't like she can fight back. These things had a tight grip on her ankles as they were being pulled off the ground. The blonde then thought of trying to make the thing let go. She pulled out her trusty scalpel which she had from her coat pocket and stabbed one of the hands with it hoping it would let go.

"Dammit!" Jon yelled as he struggled to get the hand off. He dropped the flashlight when he fell and he couldn't see anything. He also can't shoot them considering he might hit one of the girls. He then remembered the dagger Nathan dropped ad pulled it from where he put it on his person before stabbing it on the hand. It went right through, even reaching Jon's flesh and he winced.

Remembering the moment from earlier, he pulled the dagger off and stabbed it i the middle of the creature's forehead until it reached the hilt. That was when it let out a strangled cry ad let go.

"The head!" he called out, "Aim at the head!"

Hayley held her tried to get hold of her flashlight between her shoulder and chin as she held her gun with both hands. "This better work, Lieutenant Colonel!" she spoke as she hit the thing twice on the forehead, managing a clean shot. She did the same for Elaine with no hesitation if she could have shot the videographer's leg. She had to shoot thrice to get the right hit since she was aiming from the side and it was even harder for Veronica since she was farther and there was a chance she could shoot her. "I can't shoot, Miss Williams!" she said.

Lu Shen curses again. Where did they go....-- and there he spots the markers and quickly goes through the hole. He doesn't even think twice to do that since he is quite panicked and his injured shoulder doesn't do any good: his left arm starts to feel numb. There are gunshots to be heard, Lu Shen looks around to find where it comes and found the pieces of torn paper. The glasses he is wearing actually made his eyesight worse. Wearing 2 kinds of corrective lenses at the same time is really a bad idea.

"The head..." Veronica immediately pulled out the scalpel from the thing's hand. She had to accurately measure where the head was because she only had a one chance blow with this. The blonde trusted the scalpel in and was able to hit the eye, only thing her scalpel could pierce through.

The reason Hayley couldn't move immediately was there was another one grabbing her. She tried to get her aim right and as soon as the grip loosened she rushed to the medic and shot the thing as soon as she was close. She wasted a good few bullets to get a good shot at it. "God, it's like from a sci-fi movie." she spoke. Strangely, there was this enthusiastic grin on her face, like she was actually liking what was happening."

"Elaina!" Lu Shen calls aloud, "Jonathan, Victoria, Hayley!" he steps forward while holding his shoulder, "Nathan! Are you there!?" Just what in the heck is that place? Damp..wet.. smells disgusting. It is inside the cavern, why would it that place be like that? That place isn't a landfills of human corpse, is--. Lu Shen's brain was frozen of a moment.

"Lu Shen!" Elaine called. "We're over here!"

"Tian!" Hayley called him by his surname. "Be careful; there are those things in here too!" she told him. Right at this very moment, the whole team was her responsibility. If she can't lead them out to safety, she would have no face to show her family and their as well. If she survives that is.

Right at the same time Hayley called to warn the the junior archaeologist, two hands grabbed at Lu Shen's ankles and tried dragging him down as well.

When he heard Elaine and Hayley's voice, his brain came back to work. Lu Shen sighs softly in relieve. However he cannot be relieved at all. As soon as he wants to take an immediate step when Hayley warns him, two rotten hands grab his ankles and he falls to the ground successfully. "Holy shit!" he cursed breathlessly while trying to get his ankles free. Although he couldn't see it clearly because of freaking lenses, his glasses's flashlight gave him the image. Lu Shen quickly pulled out a knife and throws it right to its head since he already knew their weakness from the previous fight. The monster releases Lu Shen's ankles as soon as the knife stabs its head. Lu Shen quickly stands up and rushes to the other.

Jon ripped off the hands that were clinging to him and he made a grab for the flashlight, he then turned it to where the others were and finally shed some light on the things. They really were what one would expect for in [izombies[/i]. Rotting skin with visible maggots crawling all over their body, their face was beyond recognition as it was simply grotesque. Jon had to fight the urge to vomit. Instead, he acted quickly and grabbed the pistol he had strapped on his thigh as his rifle lay a few feet away and began sending out shots.

"Quickly, on you feet!" he cries to them, "The gun shots might attract more of these, we have to find Nathan and quick!"

"You didn't have to point another flashlight, Lieutenant Colonel." Hayley spoke with disgust as she saw the creature's appearance clearer with two flashlights light it up. She helped the medic to get away from the vile being's clutches and ushered the two other ladies to go before her. "Tian, are you hurt?" she asked Lu Shen as they walked to follow Jonathan.
